How it began
Ten years in cold water.
One big idea.
For over a decade, wild swimming has been a constant in my life, the cold water brings a kind of peace and stillness that is difficult to put into words. But it also brings something else: the pure joy and laughter of shared adventure with friends, new and old.
Adding a sauna to that experience felt like the natural next step. It opens up cold-water therapy to everyone, regardless of how brave (or not) you're feeling, and it creates the most wonderful alternative way to socialise, one that is genuinely good for you.
When I looked around Mid Devon and found nothing quite like this, the idea became a plan.

Every session runs for one hour and is designed around one idea: leaving more relaxed, more connected, and more yourself than when you arrived. Whether you come solo, as a couple, with friends, or for a private hire, Devon Sauna is your time.
Meet Helen
Built on a corporate career.
Fuelled by something deeper.
I have spent my entire career in the corporate world, and I have genuinely enjoyed it, learned from it, and grown through it. But over time, something was missing. It was in the rivers of Devon, swimming in cold water with friends, that I found what it was.
That feeling of being present, unhurried, and genuinely connected to the people around you, it is a rare thing, and a powerful one. Devon Sauna exists because I wanted to share it, and because nobody else in this part of the world was offering it.
Mid Devon is my home. This is my community. And now it has its first wood-fired sauna.
Our ethos

Devon Sauna is an inclusive and respectful community. We actively celebrate love and respect for all human beings, whatever our differences. The only rules are the ones that keep this a special place: follow sauna etiquette, respect each other's space and time, and leave more chilled out, relaxed, and happy than you arrived.
